The Role Purpose / Mission As Team Leader - Core Design your mission is to lead from the front, the mechanical design teams of GECIA to deliver participate in the development of new components, products technology for Atlas Copco, while helping Improve the technological advantage of our products and driving the technical competence of the GECIA teams You shall achieve this, by developing the technical competence of the team and by reorienting the team energy towards deep understanding about core products, core components, field applications , Technology Platforms Key Responsibilities Customer Focus Timely execution of various NPI / NPD / Custom projects of core components. Create maintain various Dashboards, KPI to Control, Monitor Improve the Quality, Delivery, and the cost parameters. Ensure GECIA s contribution towards technological advances Ensure dedicated resources / team availability for the customers Ensure communication at PTM, PCM PSM level and demonstrate GECIA s contribution to NPD Projects People Focus Create and develop subject matter experts in various domains, who in turn can establish GECIA firmly as competence Centre. Develop the teams based on the Skills Competence matrix, Create the Team spirit towards Driving Customer Success Improving Business Results Instill CAN DO; WILL DO attitude in the team Help Team members identify their purpose Prepare the team for products of tomorrow Create research-oriented culture in the team Technology Focus Drive the innovation culture in the team to nurture innovative ideas and focus improvements in the product performance, cost, life, reliability, Sustainability. Understand the Market, Industry trends on the Technology and adapt the meaningful technologies for the team Promote Cross-Pollination of the technologies, by representing GECIA at various internal, external Technology forums Product Focus Create, Develop maintain the Knowledge management Portals, Databases, etc. to document the knowledge about Product, Process, People Tool. Create reusable calculation templates, methodologies to design core components Create a knowledge library on applied materials, new way of manufacturing the products. Create an understanding in the team about available compliance requirements and ensuring our design templates are compatible to different compliance standards. Operational Excellence Create, Develop Maintain a Resource Planning Mechanism to deliver optimum resource utilization Ensure GECIA KPI as targeted by the Management Fully understand adapt to allow optimum mix of GECIA resources Partner Resources Bring Transparency in resource Planning to indicate the Resource Occupancy on different Projects and identify potential bottlenecks. Define different CAD automation projects to automate repeated processes to improve the quality What you can expect from us This role is ideal for you, if you wish to challenge yourself on Technological front and making GECIA a known competence Centre on specific Core design activities. This role also expects you to build a very strong network of local research institutes and bring the benefits for Atlas Copco What we expect of you Experience Requirement: Minimum 10 years of experience in Mechanical / Equivalent Engineering/Design domain. People Management experience of handling large reporting team is must. Experience with operational issues. First-hand experience of working on NPI / NPD projects is essential Knowledge Requirement: Good knowledge of AIRTEC element product portfolio like OIS, OFA, Centrifugal, OFS technology Various manufacturing techniques, processes materials Expertise in Ferrous/nonferrous Casting related process sand casting, gravity die casting, Low pressure die casting high pressure die casting Good understanding of casting simulation can provide remedies Knowledge of Core components manufacturing process Knowledge of assembly/fitment, GDT tolerance stack up analysis Understanding of Global engineering standards (ISO, DIN etc) Can work with CAD package, Catia Expertise in Product Life Cycle Management, Engineering Change Management Product Sustenance Engineering, Technical support. Expertise in Product Development Process (Concept-to-Product). Deep Knowledge of Atlas Copco CT products would be an added advantage. Expected Skills: People Management Skills. Dynamic, Result Oriented, Customer focused.
