The Superintendent Engineer (Mechanical) / Senior Engineer – 4 Stroke is responsible for managing the technical operations, maintenance, and performance of Everllence 4-stroke engine systems in marine and industrial applications. This includes overseeing installation and commissioning of new projects, providing on-site support to resolve technical issues, and ensuring engines run efficiently and reliably. The role also involves preparing service reports, supporting MIS documentation, and working to reduce warranty claims while improving project profitability. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with 4-stroke engines, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to support both customer satisfaction and business growth.

Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of Everllence 4-stroke engines in new ship and power plant installations, including related auxiliaries.
- Calculate and analyse key contractual parameters like Specific Fuel Oil Consumption (SFOC), Specific Load Oil Consumption (SLOC), engine performance, and ensure smooth project handover.
- Attend breakdowns, warranty claims, troubleshooting, and retrofit works for MAN 4-stroke engines, including SEMT Pielstick, Augsburg large bore engines, and Holeby small bore engines.
- Provide technical and product-related support for customer queries, offering solutions to complex engine-related issues.
- Coordinate with Headquarters and customers according to process and job requirements to ensure smooth operations and timely project delivery.
- Review scope of work, prepare project estimations, and provide inputs for service contract preparation.
- Ensure the efficient operation of engines, maximizing performance, and minimizing downtime.
- Prepare detailed reports on project progress, performance, and any technical issues for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Offer technical advice, training, and service program information to customers.
- Identify sales opportunities while at customer sites.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and service providers.
- Manage multiple projects effectively across different levels of the organization.
Key Competencies Required
- Strong understanding of 4-stroke marine engines, including IC engine fundamentals, control systems, diagnostics, condition monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to engine performance and control.
- Take ownership of project work and ensure timely technical support to customers.
- Address and resolve customer technical issues efficiently.
- Coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams and field service personnel.
- Allocate field service manpower efficiently to meet operational demands.
- Handle customer interactions professionally, including negotiations and technical presentations.
- Identify potential after-sales business opportunities during service visits and share insights with the Sales team.
- Handling of New projects for installation and commissioning.
- Take ownership of situation and provide support to customer in solving technical issues.
- Preparation of Service Report and forward it to the concerned.
- Minimizing warranty claim, increase project profitability and Reporting of MIS.
Skills Required
- Strong technical knowledge of the product, basics of IC engine and Control
- Experience handling long-duration projects and technical supervision
- Willingness to travel at short notice and work onboard vessels

Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in the marine service industry at various levels, such as Senior Service Engineer, Third/Second Engineer, or Chief Engineer, either with an OEM or on commercial vessels globally.
- Practical knowledge of at least one type of Everllence B&W 4-stroke engine (such as Pielstick, Augsburg, or Holeby) is essential.
- Experience in electrical and control systems, with familiarity in 2-stroke MC engines considered an added advantage.
- Preference will be given to engineers with experience in commissioning, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of large marine diesel engines

Job Purpose
- Perform engineering work related to Basic & Detailed engineering of On-Skid & Off-Skid System Components and piping related to Compressor and Steam turbine packages.
- Prepare and release contractual & Supplier documents as required by peer functions / clients within time and budget with Everllence Quality standards
Job Responsibilities
- Understand Input documents like Client Specs, Codes & Standards, and Everllence Specifications required to prepare specifications of System Components.
- Select applicable international regulations based on application knowledge such as ANSI, ISO, ASME, API, DIN EN, HEI and IBR.
- Undertake design calculations and selection of proper materials for release of Specifications as well as attached documentation to procurement. Provide clarity to suppliers wherever required.
- Support Layout creations by proper equipment placement working with the Modelling team for projects, bids and PrimeServ projects.
- Work closely with peer teams within engineering and cross-functional teams to meet the project deadlines.
- Compile and update Lessons Learnt document for delivering quality outputs as part of continuous improvement

Experience & Skills
(What is required for the role)
- 12-15 yrs of experience in area of selection & design of System Equipment - both on skid & off skid.
- To assist the complete turbomachinery skid packaging engineering activities related to Air and Gas compressors & all related engineering studies involved to meet client’s requirements & specifications in a manner consistent with MAN practices and policies with the help of Packaging Engineering technical resources.
- Well Conversant with Basic & Detailed engineering and minimum 12 years of experience of turbomachinery system components, such as Heat exchangers, Pressure vessels, Air Filters, Silencers, Noise hood, Lube oil systems, Condensing system, process & utility piping & line components, etc.
- Good Engineering knowledge of system equipment design.
- Well versed with material specifications.
- Good experience of understanding customer documents like P&ID, Plant Layouts, PFD & System schematics.
- Knowledge of material specifications, P& ID, drawing creation.
- Independently preparing specifications taking into consideration client/ consultant specifications, codes and standards.
- Well acquainted with Project based environment
Desirable
- Ability to create Plant Layout, Equipment Rooms, General Arrangements.
- Basic Understanding of 3D Modelling software like PDMS/ E3D.
