Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Java Application Deployment Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in installing, configuring, and deploying Java applications in distributed environments. This role will involve code promotion between regions and addressing any issues related to the application environment. Additionally, the candidate should have experience with version control systems and a desire to implement automation using DevOps practices in the future.
Key Responsibilities:

Code Promotion: Manage and execute code promotions between different environments (development, testing, production) to ensure smooth transitions and deployments.
Environment Management: Address and resolve issues related to application environments, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
Installation and Configuration:
- Install and configure Apache, Resin, or any other Java application server.
- Deploy Java applications in distributed environments, ensuring proper configuration and functionality.
Java Application Setup: Proficiently install and configure Java applications, ensuring they are optimized for distributed environments.
Version Control: Set up and maintain Git or other version control repositories, ensuring proper versioning and collaboration among development teams.
Documentation: Document and maintain records of the deployed environment, including configurations, deployment processes, and troubleshooting steps.
Future Automation: Collaborate with the team to implement automation processes using DevOps tools and practices, enhancing deployment efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications:

Experience:
- Proven experience in deploying Java applications in distributed environments.
- Proficiency in installing and configuring Apache, Resin, or similar Java application servers.
- Proficiency in Linux commands.
- Familiarity with version control systems.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of Java application architecture and deployment best practices.
- Experience with environment management and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
Documentation Skills: Ability to create clear and concise documentation for deployed environments and processes.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) to enhance deployment processes.
Familiarity with Azure cloud environments and their deployment practices.

Work Environment:

This position may require collaboration with cross-functional teams and may involve occasional on-call support for region issues.
