Sustainability Specialist

Job Description

Role & responsibilities : Develop, implement, and manage the company's sustainability and ESG strategies, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements. Work closely with management to set measurable sustainability targets and establish action plans to achieve them. Monitor and ensure compliance with local, national, and international environmental laws, sustainability standards, and ESG reporting frameworks. Monitor and manage the company's compliance with applicable environmental permits and regulations, ensuring timely submission of reports and documentation required by regulatory authorities including Pollution Control Board and Ground Water Authority Prepare and submit required sustainability reports/presentations for internal stakeholders, customers, and regulatory bodies (including GRI, ISO 14001, and other relevant frameworks). Lead projects aimed at reducing the environmental impact of manufacturing processes, including energy efficiency, water management, waste recycling. Lead and manage projects related to carbon credits, including identifying opportunities for carbon offset projects and developing strategies to generate and trade carbon credits. Develop strategies to increase the use of sustainable materials in production and reduce plastic waste. Work with R&D teams to explore alternative/eco-friendly materials and technologies that support sustainability. Collaborate with suppliers and business partners to implement sustainable practices and promote ESG principles across the supply chain. Monitor and assess the sustainability performance of suppliers, ensuring ethical sourcing, waste management, and carbon footprint reduction. Engage with stakeholders, including customers and regulatory authorities to understand their sustainability expectations and incorporate them into company policies and practices. Lead the development of sustainability communication materials for customers and external partners, including sustainability reports, updates in companys website, and marketing collateral. Develop and implement carbon reduction strategies for both domestic and export markets. Coordinate carbon footprint assessments and implement measures to track and reduce emissions across the product lifecycle. Lead internal sustainability education programs, ensuring all employees understand their role in achieving ESG goals. Provide training to the operations, sales, and leadership teams on environmental policies, regulations, and best practices. Monitor ESG trends, new regulations, and best practices in both the domestic and export markets. Analyze industry leaders to keep the company at the forefront of sustainability within the plastic industry. Manage data collection and analysis related to ESG performance, ensuring accurate and transparent reporting. Utilize data to drive improvements and make informed decisions regarding sustainability initiatives. Coordinate and oversee sustainability-related audits, ensuring they are conducted thoroughly and effectively to assess and improve the company’s environmental and social impact practices.
