Job Purpose/ Summary

Ensure the availability of all the equipemnts/machineries by enforcing preventive and on-going maintenance, scheduling repairs; coordinating shut-downs and installations.

The Assistant Engineer for Support Sinter Mechanical WML is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment within the department. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance, focusing on both preventive and corrective measures to minimize downtime and enhance equipment reliability. The engineer will be tasked with coordinating maintenance activities, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and implementing effective solutions to improve operational efficiency. Strong decision-making and communication skills are essential, as the role involves liaising with various stakeholders, including vendors and other departments. The engineer will also play a key role in safety management, ensuring all maintenance activities comply with safety standards. Ensure the availability of all the equipment/machineries by enforcing preventive and on-going maintenance, scheduling repairs; coordinating shut-downs and installations.

Principal Accountabilities

Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performancebr Develop and implement maintenance schedules to prevent equipment failures and downtimebr Ensure preventive predictive and planned maintenance of machines for the year takes place as per the schedule and carry out breakdown analysisbr Identify and plan for the upgradation of equipment to improve machine availability and capabilitybr Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely repairs and maintenance activitiesbr Monitor and review maintenance activities to ensure compliance with safety and operational standardsbr Liaise with vendors and suppliers for parts and equipment procurement
