Job Title: Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer


Experience:2-4


CTC : Up to 5 LPA

Position Summary

The Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all externally supplied components and materials meet company and customer quality standards. This role involves managing supplier quality performance, supporting new product launches through APQP and PPAP, conducting supplier audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to ensure robust and compliant manufacturing processes within the automotive supply base.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead suppliers through all APQP phases for new product introductions and engineering changes.
  • Support Run-at-Rate trials and Pre-Launch Control Plan validation at supplier sites.
  • Monitor and report supplier performance metrics including PPM
  • Maintain supplier score cards and conduct periodic performance reviews with key suppliers.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions for suppliers failing to meet quality or delivery targets.
  • Manage supplier-related nonconformities and issue SCARs (Supplier Corrective Action Requests).
  • Lead structured problem-solving using 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone analysis tools.
  • Verify and validate the effectiveness of corrective actions through follow-up audits and data review.
  • Support production containment and recovery activities to protect internal operations.
  • Maintain supplier quality documentation, audit reports, PPAP files, and certification records.
  • Support internal, customer, and third-party audits by providing supplier-related evidence and data.



Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics/Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent).

Experience:

  • 2–4 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or Supplier Development in the automotive industry.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
  • Experience with IATF 1694 auditing, and OEM/customer-specific requirements.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Why, Etc.,).
  • Familiar with process capability studies, measurement systems analysis, and Quality tools.
  • Working knowledge on Microsoft tools.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent analytical, communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence supplier improvement.
