Job Description

Key Responsibilities: 1. Machine Operations & Production Management Supervise and oversee the setup, programming, and operation of CNC and VMC machines. Ensure machines are running efficiently to meet daily production targets. Monitor machining processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with drawings and tolerances. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime. Optimize machining parameters to improve productivity and tool life. 2. Team Supervision & Workforce Management Lead, train, and mentor CNC/VMC operators to enhance skill levels. Assign tasks and ensure smooth shift operations. Conduct regular team meetings to address production challenges and improvements. Ensure discipline and adherence to company policies among operators. 3. Quality Control & Inspection Ensure components meet dimensional accuracy and surface finish requirements. Conduct in-process inspections using measuring tools like micrometers, Vernier calipers, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine). Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to address deviations and implement corrective actions. Maintain records of rejected components and analyze defects to prevent recurrence. 4. Machine Maintenance & Tool Management Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance of CNC/VMC machines. Ensure proper handling, storage, and replacement of cutting tools, inserts, and jigs. Maintain machine logs, downtime records, and preventive maintenance schedules. 5. Process Improvement & Cost Optimization Identify areas for process improvement and implement lean manufacturing practices. Optimize machining cycle time and material utilization to reduce wastage. Collaborate with engineering and production planning teams for process standardization. 6. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with workplace safety norms and machine handling protocols. Conduct safety briefings and enforce PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) usage. Address workplace hazards and ensure adherence to 5S and ISO standards. Qualifications & Skills Required: Education: Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 5-10 years of experience in CNC/VMC machine operations, preferably in flange manufacturing or precision machining. Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory or team leader role.
