Job Description

This internship offers an exciting opportunity to explore capability development for corneal and soft tissue engineering, including mapping of infrastructure, expertise, innovation support and regulatory challenges. Focus areas: Primary focus on Corneal tissue engineering while extending the scope to other soft tissues (like, cardiac, skin, etc.) Key responsibilities: Understanding state-of-the-art advancements and challenges in Tissue Engineering Corneal Tissue Engineering (Primary Focus): Current advancements and challenges (for example, ensuring optical transparency while selecting biomaterials, cell-matrix interaction, vascularization and immune response). Soft tissue engineering (Secondary focus): Current advancements and challenges in soft tissue engineering (for example, skin and cardiac tissues). It also includes understanding challenges involved in decellularized tissue engineering such as tissue sourcing, prototype development and testing. Mapping existing Venture Center s capabilities and infrastructure Includes assessment of Venture Center s bioincubation facilities and resources, existing expertise and reviewing current startup portfolio for synergies in tissue engineering. Mapping of innovation support ecosystem at Venture Center Identification of Indian and global researchers, clinicians, industry leaders, KOLs, service providers and regulatory experts Understanding GMP and regulatory challenges for tissue engineered products Mapping funding and investment opportunities for tissue engineering startups Developing a capability roadmap for Venture Center Recommendations on infrastructure development, expert connects and innovation support services (including regulatory support) Identifying potential partnerships with academic organizations, industries, hospitals and service providers Recommendations on training programs and events for tissue engineering startups and researchers Benefits for the intern: The internship will run under Venture Centers R.K.
