Job Description

As a Subsea Engineer at the company, you will be responsible for applying your conceptual knowledge of Subsea to solve a range of straightforward problems. Your role will involve analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures and building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. You will need to understand key business drivers and apply this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations by using technical experience, judgment, and precedents. Key Responsibilities: - Perform Installation Analysis for SURF projects using industry-standard software - Provide specialist skills and knowledge in engineering and analysis related to Subsea engineering including installation engineering - Coordinate daily activities and prioritize schedule for Subsea Engineering - Provide tender engineering support including document review, preparation of subcontractor documents, bid evaluation, and vendor selection - Support Subsea projects for procurement, design, and installation engineering/analysis - Prepare technical reports, design calculations, engineering analysis, and interface with third parties - Attend and prepare for project progress meetings and departmental meetings - Adhere to safety and legal objectives of the company - Train and mentor graduates and junior engineers - Develop knowledge in design and analysis related to Subsea - Understand client requirements, develop solutions, and satisfy necessary codes and specifications - Take personal responsibility for design, analysis, and technical documentation - Liaise with operational engineers, support project engineering, and be available for site visits and offshore trips - Develop knowledge of McDermott's business units and interactions - Develop advanced skills in standard productivity tools - Apply standards and procedures - Capture project lessons learned into McDermott's Lessons Learned system - Participate in technical audits on engineering deliverables and vendor documents Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Engineering - 3-8 years of experience in oil and gas industry with a major contractor or consultant, focusing on detail design related to subsea equipment - Experience with industry-standard software packages for design and installation analysis (e.g., Orcaflex, Pipelay, Abaqus) - Familiarity with industry-commonly used codes and standards for subsea engineering - Good organization and communication skills - Ability to prioritize workload to meet project deadlines - Proficiency in English, both oral and written - HSE, TQM, and cost-conscious mindset Please note that you will report to the Lead Engineer for the project and the Supervising Department Manager. You will liaise with Engineers, Design Supervisors, and Designers of your discipline. Additionally, you will supervise Trainee Engineers.
