Position Summary

Core Responsibilities

• Lead structural design efforts from conceptual development through detailed design and construction.
• Review and modify production drawings for solar and renewable energy projects.
• Design structural components based on project needs, budget constraints, and client requirements.
• Apply advanced knowledge of structural engineering principles, codes, and industry standards.
• Conduct research and compile project-related data to support design and execution.
• Prepare documentation for client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration.
• Design and oversee foundation systems for solar panels and associated infrastructure.
• Implement quality assurance and safety protocols to meet industry standards.
• Manage project costs through estimates, tracking, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain detailed records of engineering calculations, construction progress, and as-built documentation.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and standards. Ensure all designs adhere to relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including ASCE, IBC, ACI, AISC, and local building codes.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering; a master’s degree in Structural Engineering is preferred and may substitute for one year of professional experience.

Technical Skills and Experience

Software Proficiency:

• Proficiency in industry-standard structural design and analysis software, including:
• RISA 3D, RISA Foundation, LPILE, RAM, STAAD.Pro, RC Mat
• AutoCAD, Navisworks, Tekla, and SmartPlant 3D

Experience

• 4–6 years of progressive structural engineering experience, including proven experience on U.S.-based solar, substation, or other renewable energy projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in structural design and analysis for power generation and renewable energy infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction practices, and applicable design codes and standards (ASCE, ACI, AISC, IBC, etc.).

Psychosocial Skills /Human Skills/Behavioural Skills

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Project Management experience a plus.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take ideas and run with them from concept to conclusion.
• Technical understanding of clean energy business processes.
• Exceptional verbal and writing communication skills with superiors, peers, partners, and other stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal skills while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
