Structural Design Engineer

Role Overview: You will be primarily concerned with the analysis and design of buildings and structures to ensure they are safe and capable of withstanding various elements. Your role will involve improving the structural integrity of existing buildings and designing structures to fulfill specific purposes while ensuring safety, economy, and functionality throughout their intended lifetime. As a structural engineer, you will investigate immediate loads and demands on structures as well as potential future changes to ensure they are designed to withstand these loads effectively. Key Responsibilities: - Work closely on construction plans with clients, architects, and other professionals - Prepare reports, designs, and drawings - Perform calculations regarding loads and stresses - Utilize computer simulations to predict structural reactions under different conditions - Inspect unsafe buildings and provide recommendations for repairs or demolition - Select appropriate construction materials and offer technical advice - Obtain planning and/or building regulations approval - Collaborate with relevant professional staff such as architects - Monitor and inspect work conducted by contractors Qualifications Required: - Hold a degree or postgraduate qualification in structural or civil engineering with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in consultancy firms - Possess hands-on experience in ETABS, SAFE, Staad Pro, and AutoCAD software - Proficient with British and Euro design codes - Sound knowledge of the design of RCC and Steel structures - Demonstrated good communication, interpersonal, and technical skills - Strong problem-solving abilities and familiarity with computers and software programs - Ability to analyze complex problems and evaluate solutions - Capable of explaining design plans, ideas, and meeting deadlines Note: The job also offers benefits such as health insurance, leave encashment, life insurance, paid sick time, and a performance bonus.
