Job Description

Job Title: STP Operator

Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu

Salary: ₹12,000 – ₹15,000 per month

Department: Operation & Maintenance

Reporting to: Site Engineer / O&M Manager

Job Summary:

The STP Operator is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and monitoring of the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) to ensure efficient treatment and compliance with environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor STP equipment, including pumps, blowers, motors, valves, and dosing systems.
Check inlet and outlet water quality and record parameters such as pH, DO, TDS, and MLSS.
Perform daily inspection and cleaning of tanks, screens, and filters.
Ensure proper dosing of chemicals (chlorine, alum, etc.) as per treatment requirement.
Maintain daily logbooks and operation records.
Conduct preventive maintenance under supervision.
Report any malfunction or abnormality to the supervisor immediately.
Follow all safety procedures and maintain cleanliness in the plant area.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: ITI / Diploma / SSLC (Preferred: Mechanical, Electrical, or Environmental).
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in operation of STP/WTP/ETP.
Skills Required:
Basic knowledge of wastewater treatment process.
Ability to handle pumps, motors, and dosing systems.
Good communication and record-keeping skills.

Work Type: Full-time / Shift duty
Timing: 8-hour shifts (Day/Night rotation)
