Role SummaryThe Steward/Waiter is responsible for providing excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a clean, welcoming dining environment. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer ServiceGreet guests warmly and escort them to their tables. Present menus and explain daily specials or promotional items. Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently. Serve food and beverages professionally and courteously. Ensure guest satisfaction; promptly respond to requests or complaints. Maintain a positive and friendly attitude at all times. Operational DutiesSet up tables with linen, cutlery, glasses, and other service items. Clear and reset tables after guests leave. Ensure serving stations are fully stocked (napkins, plates, cutlery, condiments). Follow proper sequence of service and SOPs. Assist in food running and coordination with kitchen staff. Hygiene & SafetyMaintain cleanliness of dining areas, service stations, and equipment. Follow food safety and hygiene standards as per company policy. Ensure proper handling of all crockery, glassware, and cutlery. TeamworkCoordinate with kitchen, bar, and cashier teams for smooth service. Assist with opening and closing duties of the restaurant. Support colleagues during busy service hours. Qualifications & SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Prior experience as a steward/waiter (optional but preferred). Good communication and interpersonal skills. Basic knowledge of food and beverage service. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Strong teamwork and multitasking abilities. Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for long periods. Able to lift and carry up to 20 kg (trays, plates, supplies).
