About the Role:

Google Pay is expanding its footprint across India with a strong focus on QR-based payments and Soundbox adoption among merchants. As a Cluster Head QR & Soundbox, you will be responsible for managing and scaling merchant acquisition and engagement across a designated cluster of cities or districts within a state. This role involves driving field operations, leading mid-sized teams, and ensuring business targets are met at the cluster level.

Key Responsibilities:
Business Ownership & Execution

Drive penetration of Google Pay’s QR and Soundbox solutions across key markets in the assigned cluster.

Own and deliver KPIs including QR activations, Soundbox installations, merchant engagement, and churn control for your cluster.

Implement localized strategies aligned with broader state and national objectives.

Monitor market trends and provide feedback for product or process improvements.

Team Management

Lead and manage a team of Area Sales Managers and Field Executives (on-roll and off-roll).

Set performance expectations, track progress, and ensure target achievement through field team productivity.

Hire, coach, and groom team members to maintain a high-performance culture.

Support teams in resolving merchant issues related to onboarding, product functionality, and customer support.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams including backend operations, logistics, and customer support to ensure seamless field execution.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required.

8–10+ years of experience in Sales, Business Development, or Channel/Field Sales Management in fintech, payments, or a related domain.

Proven track record of managing field teams and driving sales targets.

Strong knowledge of the local market and merchant ecosystem.

Analytical mindset with strong communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Attributes:

Prior experience in managing hardware-led product rollouts (POS terminals, EDC machines, Soundbox, etc.) is an added advantage.

Exposure to managing operations across multiple cities or zones within a state.
