The Staff Scrum Coach & Technical Program Manager is a dual-function leadership role that combines deep expertise in Scrum coaching with strong capabilities in technical program management. The primary responsibility is to coach and enable high-performing Scrum teams, while also leading the planning and delivery of complex, cross-functional technical initiatives. This role partners closely with Engineering, Product, and Design to align team execution with strategic objectives and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Job Duties and Responsibilities Scrum Coaching (Primary Focus) Serve as a Scrum Coach for multiple development teams, helping them adopt and refine core Scrum practices to improve team collaboration, velocity, and quality. Facilitate Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement, ensuring they are impactful and outcome-oriented. Work with Product Owners and Engineering Managers to support effective backlog prioritization, estimation, and stakeholder alignment. Identify and resolve team-level blockers and delivery challenges, and cultivate a mindset of continuous improvement and learning. Lead training sessions, workshops, and team coaching engagements to scale Scrum best practices across teams. Support Agile enablement across Engineering, Product, and Design when appropriate, though the focus remains on coaching Scrum teams. Technical Program Management (Secondary Focus) Plan and lead the execution of multi-team technical programs, ensuring alignment across cross-functional groups and delivering results against shared goals. Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design stakeholders to define program scope, outcomes, and delivery plans. Manage program timelines, milestones, and delivery metrics, adapting as needed to maintain progress and quality. Provide structured communication and updates to leadership on status, risks, and delivery progress. Help teams manage cross-functional dependencies and proactively address risks to ensure smooth execution. Minimum REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 10 or more years of combined experience in Scrum coaching and technical program management roles. Strong foundation in Agile methodologies with proven ability to coach teams and leaders through the adoption and evolution of Scrum practices. Experience delivering complex programs in cloud-based software environments, especially in partnership with Engineering, Product, and Design. Skilled in facilitation, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder management across global, distributed teams. Ability to influence without direct authority and drive team alignment through strong communication and trust-building.
