Staff Software Engineer

Job Description

Be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the Real-time Reporting platform at Zendesk. Work collaboratively with a small, focused and self-organising team to deliver high impact outcomes for Zendesk customers. Mentor and guide engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence. Translate business needs into technical requirements by engaging effectively with business owners and stakeholders Lead technical initiatives, ensuring delivery of scalable and robust solutions What you bring to the role 7+ years experience working on high scale applications and data processing pipelines. Have a proven experience in both Software Engineering and Data Engineering with a focus on delivering large-scale distributed and high quality applications. Hands-on experience with real-time data pipelines, stream processing and OLAP databases (e.g ClickHouse, Snowflake, Kafka, ElasticSearch etc) Demonstrated ability to lead engineering projects and mentor junior engineers Ability to design scalable and robust data architectures for real-time analytics. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to collaborate with teams across multiple time zones globally. Strong proficiency in Java is preferred and hands-on experience with technologies like AWS, Clickhouse, Kafka, Docker and Kubernetes
