Staff Software Engineer - Python

Overview

• Within the Scalable AI team, we sustainably solve the recurring challenges that arise in enterprise AI solutions by applying the latest cognitive platform and solutions to the first customers.
• We thereby support the application of a plethora of AI-fueled products by providing in-depth software solutions to questions regarding automation, testing, reliability, model and data quality.
• You will join a highly motivated team of Data Scientists and Software Engineers that strives for a seamless end-to-end use of forecasting and other state-of-the-art technologies along the supply chain.
  

Scope

• Develop, apply and operate software tools in BY SDK (GenAI framework)
• To support customer onboardings and operations
• To automate deployment and testing of solution templates and customer configurations
• Leverage Microsoft Azure cloud services to build scalable services for our internal users
• Write clean, well-structured, documented and efficient, maintainable code that adheres to software development best practices
• Automate workflows and sequences by leveraging existing APIs of the cognitive platform
• Working in an agile team with an emphasis on quality, testability, and automation
• Create software artefacts and microservices for internal teams and external customers
• Collaboration with Data Scientists, Solution Architects and Software Engineers of other teams in the Blue Yonder microservice landscape to develop tools for the scalable use of AI solutions in supply chain

• Software: Python 3*, NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn, SparkML, pandas, Jupyter Notebook, Matplotlib, Azure ML
• Application Architecture: Scalable, Resilient, Reactive, event driven, secure multi-tenant Microservices architecture
• Cloud: MS Azure
• Frameworks/Others: Snowflake, Kubernetes, Dataflow, Kubeflow, Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch, FastAPI
  

What We Are Looking For

• 8+ years of experience in software development and/or development of applications
• Graduate degree in computer science, statistics, or a related quantitative field, is required.
• Profound knowledge of Python and associated tooling (mypy, black, pytest, pip, IDEs etc.)
• Ability to write production-ready code
• Experience building and maintaining software artifacts
• Experience with microservices and REST APIs using frameworks like Flask or Django
• Expertise in working with SQL and database technologies, for example PostgreSQL or Snowflake is a plus
• Understanding of data engineering paradigms
• Passion for CI/CD, DevOps, Clean Code
• Interest in modern methods such as Kanban, Scrum, test driven development and pair programming
• Customer project or support experience
• Experience working in an Azure cloud environment to facilitate data solutions.
• Knowledge on Agentic AI
  

Good To Have

• PyData libraries like pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or pytorch is good to have
• Data science and Machine Learning knowledge, preferably forecasting techniques
• Hands-on data analysis and visualisation
