Staff Electrical Engineer

Role Overview: As a Staff Electrical Engineer at Olympus Corporation, you will be responsible for the technical execution of electrical engineering projects within the company. Reporting to the Associate Director, your role will focus on technical leadership while also involving some project management responsibilities. You will collaborate closely with Global R&D and India leads to drive the design, development, and troubleshooting of electrical systems for medical devices. Your proactive liaison with internal and external teams will ensure seamless coordination and timely achievement of project milestones. Key Responsibilities: - Lead hands-on development and execution of electrical designs, ensuring performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance throughout the process - Oversee the design and development of electrical systems for medical devices, including circuit design, PCB layout, power management, and signal processing - Manage the selection and integration of components, sensors, and electronic systems to meet design requirements and regulatory standards - Conduct detailed design reviews with internal teams and vendor partners to refine electrical architectures - Implement advanced electrical engineering techniques such as circuit simulation, power analysis, thermal modeling, and PCB design optimization - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical designs into product architecture and meet system-level requirements - Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and vendor partners to ensure alignment with long-term innovation strategies - Develop and validate test protocols for electrical systems to ensure robustness, reliability, and scalability - Drive innovation in electrical design by implementing new technologies to enhance functionality, performance, and reliability - Identify and implement process improvements for electrical engineering design, testing, and validation to optimize product development Qualifications Required: - A degree or higher qualification in Biomedical/Electrical Engineering from a recognized university - Masters in biomedical/electrical engineering will be an added advantage - 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering R&D in the medical devices domain, with a mix of technical and managerial responsibilities - Strong technical background in electrical design, circuit board development, and compliance with regulatory standards - Experience in medical device development is preferred Additional Company Details: Olympus Corporation is a globally renowned leader in endoscopy enabled healthcare, with a rich history spanning nearly a century.
