Title: Staff DevOps Engineer

Location:

India, Chennai, Remote

Key Responsibilities:

The Staff DevOps Engineer will be a member of the Transact+CBORD Automation Group. Primary responsibilities include:
  • Design and implement automated CI/CD pipelines for all development teams in the company
  • Document and maintain each instance of the DevOps delivery pipeline
  • Develop for, and maintain the standards around secure the delivery tools for cloud products hosted in Azure and AWS
  • Work on projects for delivery of key automation and service reliability projects addressing challenges around scaling, storage and security
  • Follow best practices and train maintenance personnel, promoting best practice and implementation of long-term architectural designs
  • Provide training for engineers embedded in various teams on best practices and usage of the DevOps tooling
  • Act as a steward of the overall DevOps metrics for the company

Required Experience

  • 10+ years working in software delivery, automation and related field
  • 4+ years working on product development and automation in a public cloud (Azure Preferred)
  • Demonstrable experience with, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery tools like Octopus Deploy, Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions and able to talk through or demo details of at least one project using these sort of tools
  • Mastery in one or more scripting languages like Bash or Powershell, and at least one programming language like Javascript, Python, Go or similar
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tooling like Terraform, Ansible etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of the following
  • Kubernetes and Docker
  • Networking and firewalls
  • Telemetry and monitoring
  • Experience working with development teams using a mixed technology stack including Java, .NET, and JavaScript
  • Able to design and document internal processes for the Operations team to manage, maintain, and evaluate production systems to meet or exceed customer SLA's
  • Demonstrated proficiency with troubleshooting techniques and detail-oriented problem diagnosis.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Candidates must have strong leadership, communication, and technical skills as well as the ability to work well in a team environment. The ability to handle aggressive timelines and focus under pressure is a must.

Preferred Experience

  • Certification or significant project experience in Azure DevOps, Octopus deploy or GitHub Actions
  • Certification or significant project experience with cloud native software like Kubernetes, Docker and various serverless tools
