Staff Accountant

Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing accurate financial reporting. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to analyze financial data effectively. Duties Prepare and maintain accurate journal entries and general ledger accounts Conduct thorough account analysis and reconciliation to ensure accuracy Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements Manage accounts receivable processes to ensure timely collection of payments Implement accrual accounting practices to accurately reflect financial transactions Collaborate with other departments to support governmental accounting requirements Perform financial analysis to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making Utilize Xero software for bookkeeping and financial management tasks Experience Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a focus on debits and credits Familiarity with accrual accounting principles and practices Strong skills in journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation Experience in financial report writing is highly desirable Knowledge of governmental accounting practices is a plus Proficiency in using Xero or similar accounting software is preferred We encourage candidates who are passionate about finance and possess strong analytical skills to apply for this exciting opportunity to contribute to our organization’s success.
