Job Description

Primary Duty/Job Statement This is a tier 2 level resource with specialized knowledge and experience in virtualization, enterprise storage systems, replication technologies and DR architectures, storage and backup, networking and telecommunications. This position will work closely with our team of senior engineers and infrastructure group to maintain, update, and introduce new functionality to the existing environment. This person will also assist in supporting the Windows server environment and other server / storage infrastructure projects will be assigned as needed. Technical Requirements Strong troubleshooting abilities, including working with clients to diagnose and resolve problems Strong communication skills to effectively communicate systems issues and resolutions to clients Strong server infrastructure support skills including Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016 (DNS,DHCP, on-premise and cloud) Strong knowledge in Vmware environment and to manage complex datacenter infrastructure with virtualization. Strong knowledge on managing AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure from systems point of view (Virtual machines, access control, connectivity etc) Knowledge on storage SAN setup and connectivity. Knowledge on Exchange and Database management is desirable. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to create or update technical documentation Ability to manage customer expectations; must have a strong focus on customer satisfaction Ability to work well in a team environment, to handle pressure and to manage work under tight deadlines Basic project management skills are a plus Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required Strong troubleshooting skills, must be able to work effectively with technical and non-technical remote support Experience with Monitoring tools Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Handles escalations from Tier 1 teams. Must be available to work in a 24/7 environment Follow standards. Update and provide documentation of current and new processes which adhere to best practices Document technical problems, resolutions, and processes for assigned tasks and projects Follow policies and procedures for change and incident management Professional demeanor Relentless focus in delighting customers, treating colleagues regardless of position with utmost respect Able to interact confidently with C-level executives at Client Site. Organized, able to manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously Detail Oriented, able to apply consistency throughout the work product Self-Starter in addition to having the ability to work in the guidelines of given directions Able to work with outside vendors to troubleshoot issues and tackle problems Efficient, effective at producing required results in a short amount of time Strong communication, both written and orally (consistent, efficient, and effective) Follow directions yet applies judgment and can be flexible Team member yet knows when to work independently Independent, with the ability to effectively work unsupervised Pro-active, able to note things that need to be done without being prompted and proactively address them Preferred Minimum Experience/Education Minimum of 4 years in the technology field with deep hands on experience Minimum of 4 years in supporting technology infrastructure Working knowledge of network theory required Experience in a managed services environment preferred
