Role Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled engineer with expertise in video encoding,

transcoding, packaging, and CDN delivery systems. The candidate will be responsible for

designing, developing, and optimizing solutions for large-scale video streaming infrastructure,

ensuring low latency, high availability, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop video encoder/transcoder pipelines using tools such as FFmpeg,

GStreamer, x264/x265, or equivalent.

• Build packaging workflows for HLS, DASH, CMAF, and low-latency streaming formats.

• Integrate DRM and watermarking solutions into the packaging workflow.

• Architect and implement scalable CDN solutions, including edge caching, P2P, and hybrid

models.

• Optimize CPU, RAM, and I/O utilization for real-time transcoding and streaming.

• Ensure compatibility across various devices, players, and network conditions.

• Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate deployments on Kubernetes, Docker, and

cloud/on-prem environments.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize video delivery performance.

• Keep track of new technologies in video compression, networking, and CDN architectures.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong programming skills in C/C++/Go/Python/Node.js.

• Hands-on experience with FFmpeg, GStreamer, or custom video processing frameworks.

• Good knowledge of MPEG-TS, RTP, RTMP, HLS, MPEG-DASH, CMAF.

• Understanding of low latency streaming protocols (WebRTC, SRT, QUIC).

• Experience with DRM, encryption, and secure video delivery.

• Proficiency in Linux, networking, and distributed systems.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices architectures.

• Knowledge of caching/CDN mechanisms (NGINX, Varnish, Envoy, or custom CDN design).

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience building large-scale OTT/Streaming platforms.

• Contributions to open-source video/streaming projects.

• Knowledge of AI/ML for video quality optimization (VMAF, SSIM).

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS Media Services, GCP Media, Azure Media).
