Job title : Sr. Network engineer Work location : Chennai (City Office) Centrally located. Mode: Work from office Rotational Shifts Involved One round Face to Face interview Mandatory. Position Summary: The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining global data and voice network and network security controls for the company. The role is accountable for continual planning and implementation of optimal network and security standards and practices for all networking systems in the enterprise. The position requires analyzing and handling advanced support issues. Ultimately, this role is responsible for the functional management of the network, the delegation of tasks to the network support team, and the resolution of network issues. The Senior Network Engineer should have extensive experience working with enterprise networks, managerial, communication and good project management skills. Job Responsibilities: Provide leadership for network support globally. Manage resources to assist with network monitoring, troubleshooting, procurement and implementation activities. Manage projects such as wireless implementations, extending the network into new facilities, bandwidth upgrades, and technology evaluations e.g. routers, switches, software, appliances, SDWAN and deployment of security tools globally. Implement and manage tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the security team. Stay current on latest internet/networking security threats/vulnerabilities and recommends changes to the VLS enterprise environment to mitigate risks. Work closely with Infrastructure and application teams to ensure security practices are being followed. Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, switches, Firewalls, UTM and other transport equipment Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations Providing Level-2 or Level-3 support for infra/customer fault or incidents Work with ISP and Vendor support to troubleshoot and escalate outages and problems. Mentor junior members to build and maintain a productive network team 1 Job Skills required: 10 years+ hands-on experience in managing networks in an Enterprise environment. Expert in network topologies, equipment and monitoring tools: VLANS, VPN, MPLS, gateways, routers, firewalls Palo Alto, Cisco ASA and Firepower, Meraki MX appliances and Cisco Nexus switches. Extensive experience in configuring network switching, routing, and other devices. Extensive experience with Cisco products is required. Good understanding of WAN/LAN/Wireless internetworking including design elements, protocol interoperability, network architecture development, and requirements for testing / proof of concept. Solid understanding of network protocols and concepts such as OSPF, BGP, STP, IPSEC, etc. Advanced knowledge of platform operating systems (Cisco router & Switch platforms, Cisco ASA, etc.) and their interaction with other network devices. Advanced skills in gathering requirements and designing/implementing/supporting network solutions. Good understanding of SD-WAN technologies.
