R&D Senior Mechanical Development Engineer Location - Attibele, Bangalore Mandatory Desirable Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Mandatory Minimum 10 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering Experienced in leading smaller development projects effectively within matrix organizations Mandatory Proficiency with IT tools • MS Office • 3D CAD (solid edge, Creo, NX, Inventor) • Engineering tools (Ansys, MDesign) Desirable Experience with MS Project, Azure DevOps, SAP Purpose / Objective of the Function The Senior Mechanical Development Engineer is responsible for the technical concept/design, construction and validation of machines as well as their evaluation with regard to economic efficiency from the idea to the finished product. Essential Activities Technical responsibility for design, construction (3D CAD) and validation of product improvements and new developments under consideration of costs, deadlines and quality Sub-project management in multidisciplinary and international development projects • Application of creative approaches to concept development Definition of a Requirement for Design based on an agreed technical concept Creation and maintenance of product-specific documents in compliance with applicable regulations, standards and laws Coaching and mentoring junior mechanical engineers and junior/senior designers. Knowledge and Skills required Conceptual and creative work • 3D-CAD experience • Design/ dimensioning of assemblies Knowledge of various manufacturing technologies Basic knowledge of mechatronics • Project management basics (schedule and cost control) Analytical and structured way of working Ability to work in a team • Ability to lead and coach product designers professionally • Strong communication skills • Strong implementation and decision-making skills Hands-on mentality Specific requirements In accordance with the Company related requirements: • Knowledge of hygienic design Knowledge of regulations in the area of food contact material, machine guidelines, explosion prevention Hydraulics knowledge Project responsibility in the dual role of Mechanical Engineer & Project Manager (see job description project manager). Correcting changes in product cost, warranty, standards and legislation (LCM) Handling of technical complaint cases on the existing product portfolio (LCM) FMEA Measurement / Key Performance Indicators • Developed solutions meet the technical and economic requirements (RfD) • Assemblies are developed in the specified time, under given costs and to the appropriate quality Developed machines and assemblies are complete in documentation and comply with applicable regulations, standards and laws Compliance with Company process, procedures, tools and master data.
