Purpose of the Job : The Plant Head will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and ensure policies and procedures are followed. He develops processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity. Level / Grade : E4 Business Unit : Any of the Mfg. Plant Function / Department : Operations Travel Required : Need based Reporting Manager : Director Direct Reportees : 7-9 Qualification : Plastic/ Mechanical Engineering or any similar bachelors degree Desired Certifications - Health & Safety Laws / practices Compensation range- Depends on last withdrawn salary Responsibilities To plan & monitor the day-to-day running of business to ensure smooth progress of plant activities. Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analysing and interpreting data and metrics. Also, reviewing financial information and adjusting operational budgets to promote profitability. Optimize the use of capacity at the site in agreement with the Vice President Operations. Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus at plant level. Provide hands-on supervision to production/manufacturing employees on methodology, processes, quality standards, safety and material control processes. Responsible for production output, product quality and on-time delivery. Monitor operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality. Monitor overall operations and trigger corrective actions wherever necessary. Develop and implement plans to improve customer satisfaction through quality, costs and efficient timeliness. Implementing and maintaining SOPs for all the jobs in the production functions. Reviewing, updating and continuously improving all SOPs, material-testing procedures and process-control parameters. Review established production schedules for all manufacturing departments to ensure established inventory levels are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible. Overall responsibility for ensuring that staffing and competency levels are achieved/exceeded in all aspects of the manufacturing process. Identify and grow future leaders for the business. Key Accountabilities Develop systems and processes that measure and optimize productivity, as well as standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure an effective return on assets.
