About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Data Engineer to join our innovative team at Synechron in Bengaluru. This role is pivotal in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure data platforms that underpin our data-driven initiatives. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure our data infrastructure is optimized for performance and aligned with our strategic business objectives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced AWS data services and contribute to the development of enterprise-grade data solutions that support complex analytics, reporting, and operational needs. The role requires a proactive approach to infrastructure automation, performance tuning, and security compliance, ensuring our data platforms operate seamlessly and securely in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of three years of hands-on experience working with AWS data services and infrastructure is essential. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or similar for automation purposes is required. Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform is necessary to automate deployment and scaling processes. Strong knowledge of SQL, along with experience in query optimization, is critical. Familiarity with data pipeline and workflow management tools, as well as a solid understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modeling principles, is expected. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate the ability to implement security and compliance standards within AWS environments, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and be capable of working effectively under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage comprehensive data solutions utilizing AWS data services such as Amazon Redshift, Amazon EMR, Amazon Kinesis, AWS Glue, AWS Lake Formation, and Amazon Athena.
- Ensure the architecture and design of the data platform meet the organization's requirements for reliability, scalability, and high availability.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and scaling using infrastructure as code tools like AWS CloudFormation and Terraform.
- Develop and enforce best practices for data engineering, including CI/CD pipelines, to streamline data platform development and deployment.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize data platforms for efficiency and throughput.
- Collaborate with security teams to establish and maintain data governance, security policies, and compliance standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders on data platform capabilities and best practices.
- Stay updated with the latest AWS services and emerging data technologies, evaluating their potential benefits and integrating them into existing infrastructure as appropriate.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support critical data platform operations and ensure high availability.
