Job Description

Synopsis of the Role:

Sourcing of suppliers Responsible for Cost settlement of Casting and Sheet Metal parts, understand the requirements, float RFQs, shortlist the suppliers and negotiate with them to finalize the supplier based on QCD parameters; raise development & open PO.

1. Sourcing of materials

PR with technical specifications and clarify technical recommendations

Find potential bidders

Float RFQ and get quotations

Enter into negotiations

Create commercial comparison sheet

Get commercial approval as per DOA

Award POs

Follow up for GRIN and for payment to supplier

Source the materials needed

2. Conversion to Open PO as per DOA

Identify the repetitive items

Negotiate after cross checking rates, if any deviations are found.

Create open PO,

Make open PO amendment for Price and quantity, payment term changes

3. VA VE projects

Project identification

Form CFT

Supplier selection.

Conduct meetings with CFT & suppliers

Commercial negotiations, get product trial completed from plant.

Regularization of product, calculate savings

Track projects with supplier and plants; weekly reviews

4. Monthly MIS PPT to management

Create savings report, PR to PO conversion details, ToD status

5. Query resolution / coordination

Assist plant purchase team for their daily issues, supplier related issues and SAP system related issues

Identify Process Improvement Projects

6. Others:

Resistance/ delay in project trials & implementation from plant team.

Identifying new VA/VE Projects for cost savings

Sourcing of machine break down cases, production stoppages due stock out items, shorter timeline projects sourcing it leads to escalations, many follow ups etc.

Handling multiple stakeholders (Internal & External)

Time management - Meetings, approvals, Reviews with sub-ordinates.

Required to be updated about new products & technologies in market

There is scope to learn new things and implement new ideas.
