Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and test SQL Server Express as the target platform for migration.
• Migrate existing SQL Anywhere databases, including stored procedures, triggers, and views, to SQL Server Express.
• Rewrite and optimize stored procedures to handle binary content read/write operations efficiently.
• Convert complex SQL Anywhere views into SQL Servercompatible formats.
• Analyze and resolve performance issues, redundancy handling, and data replication between systems.
• Validate data accuracy and integrity post-migration through rigorous testing and verification.
• Collaborate with application and development teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Document migration steps, challenges, and resolutions for future reference.
  

Required Skills And Experience

• Hands-on experience with SQL Anywhere and Microsoft SQL Server (Express, Standard, Enterprise).
• Proven experience in database migration and performance tuning.
• Expertise in writing and optimizing stored procedures, triggers, and views.
• Proficiency in handling binary data operations within SQL databases.
• Knowledge of database redundancy, replication, and backup strategies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Thorough understanding of data integrity, consistency, and normalization principles.
  

Nice To Have

• Experience with ProductX or similar enterprise systems.
• Exposure to cloud-based SQL deployments (Azure SQL, AWS RDS).
• Scripting experience in PowerShell, Python, or Shell for automation.
