Diensten Tech Limited is looking for Sql Server DBA to join our dynamic team and embark on a rewarding career journey A SQL Server DBA Developer, also known as a SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA), is responsible for managing and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server databases within an organization Their role involves ensuring the integrity, security, performance, and availability of the databases Here are some key responsibilities and skills of a SQL Server DBA Developer:Database Installation and Configuration: SQL Server DBA Developers handle the installation and configuration of SQL Server instances They set up database servers, configure server-level settings, and establish database security measures Database Design and Development: They participate in database design activities, collaborating with developers and business analysts to define database schema, tables, relationships, and constraints They also optimize database structures and indexing strategies to enhance performance Performance Monitoring and Optimization: SQL Server DBA Developers monitor database performance, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks They analyze query execution plans, optimize SQL queries, and fine-tune database configurations to ensure optimal performance Backup and Recovery: They implement and manage database backup and recovery strategies This includes scheduling regular backups, verifying backup integrity, and conducting database restoration in case of data loss or system failures Security and Access Control: SQL Server DBA Developers implement database security measures to protect sensitive data They manage user access and permissions, configure authentication modes, and apply security patches and updates Database Maintenance and Troubleshooting: They perform routine database maintenance tasks, such as database re-indexing, data purging, and database consistency checks They troubleshoot database-related issues, resolve errors, and handle data corruption incidents High Availability and Disaster Recovery: SQL Server DBA Developers implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions This includes setting up database mirroring, clustering, or Always On Availability Groups to ensure database availability and minimize downtime SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS): They have experience with SSIS, which is a component of SQL Server used for data integration and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes They design and develop SSIS packages to extract data from various sources, transform it, and load it into SQL Server databases SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS): SQL Server DBA Developers may also work with SSRS to create and manage reports based on database data They design and develop SSRS reports, configure report subscriptions, and handle report delivery and distribution Monitoring and Alerting: They set up monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address issues with database performance, availability, and security They configure database alerts and notifications to promptly respond to critical events Documentation and Documentation: SQL Server DBA Developers maintain documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps They create documentation for database design, installation, and recovery processes, ensuring knowledge transfer and best practices
