Specialist II - Data Science

Role Overview: As a Data Analyst at UST, you will independently develop data-driven solutions to challenging business problems by utilizing analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets under supervision. You will work with stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging customer data to create models that generate business insights. Your role will involve creating new experimental frameworks, building automated tools to collect data, correlating similar data sets to find actionable results, and developing predictive models and machine learning algorithms to analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns. You will also be responsible for mining and analyzing data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques, and business strategies. Key Responsibilities: - Identify opportunities for leveraging customer data to create models that generate business insights - Create new experimental frameworks and build automated tools to collect data - Correlate similar data sets to find actionable results - Build predictive models and machine learning algorithms to analyze large amounts of information - Mine and analyze data from company databases to optimize product development, marketing techniques, and business strategies - Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy - Create data visualizations and illustrations for given business problems - Use predictive modeling to optimize customer experiences and other business outcomes - Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes - Set FAST goals and provide feedback on FAST goals of reportees Qualifications Required: - Excellent pattern recognition and predictive modeling skills - Extensive background in data mining and statistical analysis - Expertise in machine learning techniques and creating algorithms - Analytical skills to work with large amounts of data - Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders - Critical thinking skills to draw new conclusions based on data findings - Attention to detail in analysis to come to correct conclusions - Mathematical skills to estimate numerical data - Ability to work in a team environment and strong interpersonal skills - Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or R - Knowledge of statistical and data mining techniques, web services, computing tools, database languages, analytical tools, and data visualization software - Experience with ETL data processing, MATLAB, spreadsheet tools, DBMS, operating systems, and project management tools About UST: UST is a global digital transformation solutions provider that partners with clients from design to operation to embed innovation and agility into their organizations.
