Role Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced

Data Architect

with over 10 years in IT and at least 4+ years in data architecture or principal data engineering roles. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and govern large-scale data platforms in cloud environments, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.

Key Responsibilities

Design and govern enterprise data architecture, including data lakes, data warehouses, data marts, and operational data stores (ODS).
Lead the implementation of cloud-based data solutions using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Architect scalable data ingestion, transformation, and governance frameworks aligned with organizational data strategy.
Define data modeling standards and implement relational and NoSQL database solutions.
Develop and optimize modern data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery).
Leverage Big Data and streaming technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, and Kinesis.
Establish data security, access control, and governance policies across the data ecosystem.
Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to align data architecture with business goals.
Mentor data engineers and ensure best practices in data design and implementation.

Continuous learning mindset with adaptability to emerging data technologies (Cloud, GenAI, Streaming).

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in UK financial services or pensions administration domain.
Background in product-centric or SaaS environments.
Knowledge of MLOps principles and architectures supporting machine learning and GenAI applications.
Relevant cloud certifications such as:

AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty
Azure Data Engineer Associate
Google Professional Data Engineer
