Spatial Analyst

The Spatial Analyst will support conservation, landscape and water-related projects through spatial data management, GIS analysis and hydrological mapping. The role involves integrating geospatial datasets, performing terrain and hydrological analyses and generating high-quality spatial outputs to support research, planning and decision-making. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage, process, and analyse geospatial datasets related to land use, conservation, terrain and hydrology. 
• Perform hydrological GIS analyses including watershed and sub-watershed delineation, drainage network extraction, flow direction and flow accumulation analysis and terrain-based assessments using DEM. 
• Conduct spatial analyses such as overlay, buffering, proximity analysis and zonal statistics to support project objectives. 
• Integrate multi-source spatial datasets (DEM, land use/land cover, protected areas, hydrography and ancillary layers) within standardized GIS workflows. 
• Prepare analytical maps, thematic layers and cartographic layouts for technical reports, proposals, and presentations. 
• Ensure data quality, spatial accuracy and proper documentation while maintaining organized geospatial data repositories. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s/ Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science or a related discipline. 

Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in ArcGIS and QGIS. 
• Sound understanding of map projections, coordinate systems and spatial data models. 
• Experience in spatial analysis, GIS data integration and cartographic visualization. 
• Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in GIS and related geospatial fields. 

Additional Skills:

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple GIS tasks efficiently. 
• Knowledge in programming language like. Python or R will be beneficial. 
• Strong attention to detail and documentation practices. 
• Good communication skills for coordination within multidisciplinary teams.
