Software Testing Specialist (SDET)

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) at our company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our software applications. Your responsibilities will include: - Collaborating with the scrum team to identify testing needs and opportunities. - Developing a comprehensive QA testing strategy, including the appropriate balance of manual and automated tests such as UI, web service API, functional, performance, and load tests. - Designing and implementing test plans and test cases based on business requirements and acceptance criteria. You will also be responsible for: - Developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and test cases using tools like Selenium, Cucumber, and Rest Assured. - Executing and reporting on the full testing suite of both manual and automated tests. - Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git, and other relevant tools. In addition, you will perform: - API testing using tools like Postman, Rest Assured, and HTTPClient. - Database testing with SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring data integrity and performance. Your collaboration with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure comprehensive test coverage is crucial. You will report any issues to client stakeholders and leadership, providing detailed defect reports and status updates. Qualifications required for this role include: - BS degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding. - 5+ years of software engineering testing experience, including manual and automation testing. - Extensive hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, and Rest Assured. - Proficiency in Java and/or Python. - Strong experience with TestNG, JUnit, and BDD frameworks. - Expertise in testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman and Rest Assured. - Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL). - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins. - Experience with Git for source code management. - Proficiency in using JIRA for defect tracking. Preferred skills for this role include experience with cloud architectures, performance testing tools like JMeter, knowledge of Docker and container orchestration tools, and experience working in Agile environments.
