Software Test Engineer

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Software Test Engineer to join our development team. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our web applications especially ERP Systems built with the PHP-based Yii Framework. You will collaborate closely with developers and product managers to design and execute testing strategies, identify defects, and advocate for an excellent user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and Execute Test Plans: Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases based on software requirements and technical design documents.
• Perform Manual and Automated Testing: Conduct various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing, to identify software defects.
• Automate Tests: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks using industry-standard tools (e.g., Selenium, PHP Unit) to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
• Identify, Document, and Track Bugs: Log and track defects using bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla), ensuring thorough documentation and clear steps to reproduce issues.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand system requirements and resolve issues promptly.
• Monitor and Debug: Participate in the debugging process, analyze test results, and provide actionable feedback to the development team to improve product quality.
• Contribute to Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve existing testing processes and methodologies, advocating for QA best practices within an Agile/Scrum environment.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Experience: Proven experience in software testing or quality assurance is required.
• PHP and Yii Expertise: Strong knowledge of PHP and the Yii Framework is essential.
• Web Technologies: Familiarity with web technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and AJAX is beneficial.
• Database Knowledge: Experience with relational databases and SQL is required.
• Version Control: Proficiency with Git is necessary.
• Methodologies: Understanding of the SDLC and Agile/Scrum is important.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical and communication skills are key.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with performance/load testing tools (e.g., JMeter), CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins), and API testing tools (e.g., Postman) is a plus.
• Graduation / Post Graduation in Information technology.
• Relevant certifications are also beneficial.
