Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Team Lead, Software Engineering to join our Insurance Risk Management (IRM) IT team to technically lead Catastrophic Modelling (CAT) tools and GIS development teams in Hyderabad, India. The candidate will be responsible for managing a team of junior engineering staff and maintaining and enhancing the CAT modelling platform with a strong focus on backend technologies, cloud infrastructure, and data management.

Key Responsibilities

Will act as Team Lead and manage day-to-day activities of junior engineering staff.
Develop, enhance, and maintain components of the Catastrophic Modelling platform.
Implement backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
Design and manage data storage solutions using SQL Server.
Develop and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS and Terraform.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, actuaries, and cloud engineers to improve platform capabilities.
Ensure platform scalability, security, and performance optimization.
Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging.
Contribute to the full software development lifecycle following Agile methodologies.
Document technical designs, solutions, and processes.

Required Skills & Experience

6 to 9 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on backend development.
Demonstrated experience managing software engineering teams.
Expert level programming skills in both Java and Spring Boot.Proficiency in SQL Server for database design and querying.
Experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.).
Hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).- Knowledge/ Preferred skill on Terraform
Understanding of cloud infrastructure, security, and deployment best practices.
Experience working in Agile environments.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills & Experience

Experience with Angular or React for front-end development| Knowledge on Angular
Familiarity with Catastrophic Modelling concepts and tools.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practiceWhat We Offer
