Software Engineer, Test

Role Overview: You will be joining Ethos as a Software Engineer in Test, focusing on both frontend and backend automation. Your role will be essential in ensuring seamless functionality of web applications across various browsers and devices. You will play a crucial part in building and maintaining robust test suites, validating UI workflows, and collaborating with product and engineering teams to maintain high-quality standards throughout the development and release process. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain frontend and API automation frameworks using Playwright or Selenium. - Generate detailed test cases from Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), emphasizing UI workflows and client-side logic. - Execute advanced SQL queries to facilitate test validation and data setup. - Collaborate with developers, QA analysts, and system engineers to establish test strategies and ensure alignment on quality objectives. - Take ownership of automation frameworks, tools, and scripts to support continuous integration and delivery. - Create API tests using Postman, Rest Assured, Playwright API, or Jest. - Develop and manage test suites for RESTful APIs to validate service integrations. - Identify and address risks and issues related to frontend testing, such as rendering problems and browser-specific bugs. - Enhance test case quality and automation coverage for functional, regression, sanity, and end-to-end UI testing continuously. Qualifications Required: - Strong hands-on experience with Playwright (UI & API), Selenium, Postman, Rest Assured, or Jest. - Proficiency in JavaScript or Node.js environment. - Experience in cross-browser test strategies and debugging UI issues across multiple environments. - Proficient in writing advanced SQL queries for backend data verification. - Ability to convert PRDs and ERDs into actionable, automated test cases. - Familiarity with source control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and test reporting frameworks. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Self-motivated with the capability to work in fast-paced, agile teams. - Knowledge of performance testing is a plus.,
