Our innovation, the Respirit Smart Respiratory Device, combines portable spirometry with AI-driven analytics for early detection and monitoring of lung diseases. Position Overview

We are seeking a multidisciplinary software engineer skilled across IoT, AI, full-stack development, and database engineering. In this role, you will contribute to the development of our end-to-end respiratory care platform from device-level data acquisition to cloud processing, algorithm development, and front-end user experience. This is a mission-driven, deep-tech opportunity where your work will directly impact patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Stack & Software Development

• Build and maintain scalable front-end and back-end components of the Respirit healthcare platform.
• Develop secure, efficient APIs (REST or GraphQL) for device–cloud–app communication.
• Create intuitive dashboards, mobile-friendly UIs, and responsive user workflows.
• Optimize application performance, security, and scalability.

IoT & Device Integration

• Work closely with the hardware and embedded teams to integrate IoT-enabled respiratory devices with cloud systems.
• Develop data ingestion pipelines for real-time device data (spirometry, vitals, sensor data).
• Ensure reliability, synchronization, and error-handling in device-to-cloud communication (MQTT/HTTPS/BLE).

AI & Algorithm Development

• Support development of ML/AI models for lung disease detection, progression tracking, and quality scoring.
• Assist in processing spirometry signals, noise filtering, and pattern analysis.
• Validate outputs with clinicians to ensure clinical accuracy and compliance with medical standards.

Database Development & Management

• Design, implement, and optimize both relational (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• Develop efficient data models for time-series, clinical, IoT, and structured application data.
• Ensure data integrity, security, indexing, and high availability of the database layer.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of professional experience in software or full-stack development.
• Strong skills in front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React/Angular/Vue).
• Solid back-end experience in Node.js, Python, Django, or similar.
• Hands-on experience working with databases—SQL & NoSQL.
• Proficiency in Git and version control workflows.
• Experience working with and building APIs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred

• Experience with IoT systems, device-cloud communication, MQTT, BLE, or embedded system integration.
• Knowledge of signal processing or time-series analysis.
• Exposure to AI/ML tools such as NumPy, SciPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Understanding of respiratory physiology (FEV1, FVC, PEF, etc.) is a plus.
• Experience working in healthcare, medical devices, or regulated environments (HIPAA, IEC 62304, ISO 13485).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
