Role Description

This is a remote role offering a unique opportunity to work directly alongside the founders of an early-stage EdTech startup. As a Software Engineer Intern, you won’t just be fixing bugs; you will be architecting solutions. You will collaborate with the leadership team to design, implement, and deploy efficient software solutions that directly impact our users.

You will gain hands-on experience in full-cycle development—building robust backends with Python and FastAPI, integrating them with frontend interfaces, and leveraging cutting-edge AI coding tools to accelerate your workflow.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct Collaboration:

  Work closely with founders to translate product vision into technical reality.

• Backend Development:

  Build and maintain scalable APIs using

  Python

  and

  FastAPI

  .

• Full-Stack Integration:

  Handle the logic for Frontend and Backend communication, ensuring seamless data flow.

• AI-Assisted Engineering:

  Utilize AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) to write, debug, and optimize code efficiently.

• API Management:

  Design and implement RESTful APIs and handle third-party API integrations.

Qualifications

• Tech Stack:

  Strong foundational knowledge of

  Python

  and experience with the

  FastAPI

  framework.

• Web Development Basics:

  Understanding of how Frontend and Backend interact, specifically regarding

  API calls

  (REST, JSON).

• Modern Workflow:

  Familiarity with or a strong desire to use

  AI coding assistants

  to speed up development and problem-solving.

• CS Foundations:

  Background in Computer Science (or equivalent self-study) with an understanding of data structures, algorithms, and OOP principles.

• Soft Skills:

  High agency, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
