As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Team you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.

Job responsibilities

Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.

Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications. .

Applies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity.

Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development.

Design, implement, and manage AWS infrastructure to support scalable and reliable applications.

Collaborate with development teams to integrate and automate deployment processes.

Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues using tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, and Grafana and implement observability practices to ensure comprehensive monitoring and alerting and to enhance system reliability and performance.

Provide hands-on production support and resolve incidents promptly.

Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure and operational processes.

Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 system availability.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
• Experience as a DevOp Engineer
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle.
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Terraform and Application Resiliency & Security.
• Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e. g. , cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, etc. ).
• Strong experience with AWS infrastructure and services.
• Proficiency in logging, monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and Grafana.
• Hands-on experience in production support and incident management.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Familiarity with modern front-end technologies

Exposure to cloud technologies AWS

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools

Knowledge of scripting languages (e. g. , Python, Bash)
