Role Description

Social Media Executive


Key Responsibilities

  1. Content Creation & Publishing

  • Plan, create, schedule, and publish engaging content across all social platforms -

    Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, and YouTube

  • Maintain a strong understanding of TED/TEDx storytelling DNA while adapting content for each platform
  • Build high-engagement formats including reels, shorts, carousels, posts, stories, blogs, and live coverage


2.Brand & Campaign Alignment

  • Collaborate with design, marketing, video, and content teams to ensure brand consistency
  • Support campaigns for events, speakers, youth programs, partnerships, and major announcements
  • Maintain and update the

    content calendar

    with clarity, cadence, and consistency


3.Community Engagement

  • Respond to comments, DMs, and audience queries with speed and empathy
  • Nurture a thoughtful and active online community aligned with TED values
  • Monitor conversations, repost content, and engage with relevant voices, creators, and partners


4.Trend Intelligence

  • Stay updated on

    social media trends, memes, formats, and platform updates

  • Share insights proactively with the team to keep content fresh, modern, and high-reach
  • Spot real-time opportunities to join cultural moments in TEDxGateway’s voice


5.Performance Tracking

  • Track analytics across platforms — engagement, reach, impressions, growth
  • Prepare

    weekly and monthly performance reports

    with insights and recommendations
  • Optimize content strategy based on data and experimentation


6.Campaigns, Ads & Influencers

  • Assist in ideating and executing social media campaign plans for major events
  • Support influencer and thought-leader collaborations
  • Run and monitor paid ad campaigns (Meta, LinkedIn, Google Ads) and track ROI


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 3-5 years of experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing
  • Strong understanding of Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, and emerging platforms
  • Excellent copywriting skills - crisp, intelligent, and on-brand
  • High sense of design, pacing, and social storytelling
  • Ability to work under tight timelines, especially during events
  • Passion for ideas, creativity, youth culture, and community-driven content
  • Bonus: Experience with video editing tools (CapCut, Premier Rush, Canva, etc.)
