Job Description

Job Title: Snowflake Platform Engineer (Snowflake Admin)

Location:

RemoteWe are looking for an experienced

Snowflake Platform Engineer

with strong Snowflake Administration expertise to manage, optimize, and scale our enterprise Snowflake environment. This role will focus on platform reliability, security, performance tuning, cost optimization, and seamless integration with Databricks and other enterprise data systems.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and manage Snowflake environments — databases, schemas, warehouses, RBAC roles, integrations.
Implement and enforce security models, masking policies, RBAC, and data-sharing standards.
Perform Snowflake performance tuning including query optimization, clustering, micro-partitioning.
Automate provisioning, monitoring, governance, and incident response using SQL, APIs, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
Support and optimize Databricks–Snowflake integrations for ETL/ELT, ML workloads, and Delta Lake/Iceberg interoperability.
Monitor and optimize warehouse credit usage and storage costs using FinOps practices.
Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and security standards.
Troubleshoot platform issues, manage incidents, and support ongoing platform enhancements.

Required Experience & Skills

8+ years in Data Engineering, Data Platform Engineering, or Database Administration.
4+ years of hands-on enterprise Snowflake Administration experience.
Strong understanding of Snowflake internals — warehouses, DCR, query optimizer, clustering.
Experience working with Databricks clusters, Delta Lake, and notebook-driven pipelines.
Proficiency in SQL and scripting (Python/Shell).
Expertise with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with platform monitoring, incident management, and system governance.
Strong understanding of data governance and security compliance frameworks.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.
Ability to thrive in fast-paced, agile environments and work independently.

Nice to Have

Snowflake SnowPro Advanced (Architect/Data Engineer) Certification.
Experience with Kafka or streaming technologies.
Hands-on experience with FinOps dashboards for credit and cost optimization.
