Position Overview: Job Title: SMT Unit Manager Department: Program Location: Gurugram (HQ) Reports To: Business Head Type of Position: Full-time About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and motivated SMT Unit Manager to oversee the operations and management of our Surface Mount Technology (SMT) unit. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience working in SMT unit management, preferably in well-established electronics manufacturing companies. This role requires a proactive and strategic individual with a strong understanding of SMT processes , Stencil Design & Optimization , SMT Programming (Gerber, CAD Data, CAM Software) , and effective team management. The candidate should have knowledge of IPC Standards , including IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 , along with familiarity with various quality assurance practices like Statistical Process Control (SPC) , First Article Inspection (FAI) , and Reliability Testing . Key Responsibilities: Production Management: Oversee daily SMT operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and timely production. Implement reflow soldering and wave soldering processes to meet production targets. Stencil Printing: Ensure proper Stencil Design & Optimization for efficient paste application. Quality Control: Maintain high-quality standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) and troubleshoot technical issues, ensuring Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) , Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) , and X-ray Inspection (AXI) processes are followed. Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in throughput, quality, and cost-efficiency using Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other data-driven approaches. Incorporate IPC Standards and implement corrective actions based on data insights. Team Leadership: Manage, train, and motivate the SMT team, ensuring adherence to safety and performance standards. Support SMT Rework & Repair processes to ensure flawless product output. Inventory Management: Ensure timely availability of materials and oversee stock levels, with a focus on ESD Control to protect sensitive components. Reporting: Provide regular reports on production performance, quality assurance (QA) results, and issues for continuous monitoring and feedback. Skills & Qualifications: Education: Bachelors Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Experience: 3+ years in SMT unit management, with hands-on experience in SMT processes , Stencil Design & Optimization , and SMT Programming (Gerber, CAD Data, CAM Software) . Technical Skills: Familiar with SMT equipment , IPC Standards , quality control standards , and ERP systems. Experience with Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) , Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) , and X-ray Inspection (AXI) is highly desirable. Location: NCR (preferred).
