Stakeholder Coordination

Purpose of the role

To perform analytical calculations, FEA, and CFD analyses to complete the analysis DVP, supporting the design and development of gearbox housings, gears, shafts, lubrication, and cooling systems. The role aims to provide technical insights that directly influence product performance and reliability while collaborating with a global team of experts to bring optimized designs into production.

Role & responsibilities

General:

• Prepare detailed reports and presentations to document simulation results
• Collaborate with engineers to interpret simulation results and provide insights for design improvements
• Participate in design reviews and assist Chief Engineer to complete analysis DVP to meet release gate requirements
• Take up initiatives for continuous improvement of simulation methodologies and processes with a goal to achieve handshake between simulation and real world testing.

Primary Focus Areas:

• Perform FEA simulation for gearbox component durability, including static structural analysis, fatigue life prediction of powertrain components
• Conduct Modal and harmonic analysis to address gear whine issues
• Automate pre and post processing using Python

Secondary Focus Area:

• Perform CFD simulation to ensure sufficient oil flow to all tribological contact points

Contact Areas

• Internal: Design engineers, Simulation Engineers, Test Engineers, Project Manager
• External: Supplier application engineer, customer simulation engineers

Other Requirements

1. Exposure to CFD and 1D thermal analysis is nice to have

2. You have been part of design competitions like SAE Baja or Supra SAE India

3. You have thorough understanding of design engineering tools like DFMEA, DVP

4. Exposure to CAD software like PTC Creo

Preferred Skills

1. Fundamental knowledge of Finite Element Method for stress analysis.

2. Good command of FEA software like Altair Simlab, Hyperworks, Optistruct.

3. Solid foundational comprehension of the mechanics of materials and the properties of gear materials, including knowledge of heat treatment.

4. Available to travel to Belgium for 1 to 2 months in a year

5. Logical approach to problem solving (Capability of resolving problems, performing root cause analysis & identifying counter-measurements)

6. Exposure to Python

Ability to present ideas with a structured approach
