Nature Morte is a leading contemporary art gallery based in New Delhi, representing some of the most exciting and acclaimed artists from India and abroad. The gallery curates' cutting-edge exhibitions and participates in leading art fairs globally. Our operations team ensures the seamless movement and handling of artworks, delivering excellence from studio to exhibition. Role Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Shipping Manager to oversee and streamline our logistics, artwork handling, inventory, and gallery maintenance. The ideal candidate will bring a structured approach to managing the back-end processes that enable the successful presentation and sale of artworks in India and internationally. Key Responsibilities 1. Inventory & Documentation Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory of artworks in the gallery’s database Ensure artworks are barcoded/labeled correctly and stored as per conservation standards Prepare Challan, Gate Pass for any movement either or WH Up to date inventory for packing material daily/weekly basis. Email the packing materials inventory to Management daily basis 2. Vendor Management Identify, onboard, and manage vendors for framing, shipping, packing, printing, and supplies Negotiate contracts, obtain quotes, and ensure quality and timely delivery of services 3. Coordination with Courier & Transport Partners Liaise with shipping and courier partners to ensure safe, timely, and secure transportation of artworks. Accompany artworks during transport when necessary. Ensure compliance with gallery protocols for insurance, documentation, and customs where required. 4. Warehouse & Inventory Management · Organize and maintain the artwork storage/warehouse area, ensuring safety and easy retrieval. · Track movement of artworks in and out of storage, and update inventory logs. · Maintain proper documentation and condition reports. Qualifications & Skills Graduate degree in Arts, Business, Logistics, or related fields 2–5 years of experience in operations/logistics, ideally in a gallery, museum, or creative space Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment Proficient in MS Office; experience with inventory or gallery management systems is a plus Comfort with handling fragile and high-value items with care Passion for the arts and sensitivity to working with creative professionals.
