ServiceNow Developers and Lead Developers

Key Responsibilities

Discovery & Service Mapping

• Design, deploy, and manage

  ServiceNow Discovery

  for on-premise & cloud environments.
• Implement and maintain

  Cloud Discovery

  (Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud APIs, Cloud Containers, etc.).
• Create, configure, and optimize

  Discovery schedules, IP ranges, subnets, and credentials

  .
• Build and troubleshoot

  Discovery Patterns & Probes

  , logs, errors, and CI IRE rules.
• Implement MID Servers and ensure stability, performance, and scalability.
  

Governance & Documentation

• Develop governance processes, SOPs, and best practices for Discovery and Service Mapping.
  
• Create & maintain detailed documentation, reports, dashboards, and health checks.
  
• Ensure Discovery and Service Mapping meet requirements for

  CMDB accuracy

  .

Integrations & CMDB

• Design and implement Discovery & Service Mapping integrations with external systems.
  
• Align Discovery practices with all CMDB population methods.
  
• Monitor Discovery/Service Mapping health and ensure complete & accurate CMDB data.
  

Required Qualifications

For Developer (47 years):

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow Discovery & ITOM.
  
• Strong understanding of cloud resources and distributed systems.
  
• Proficiency with patterns, probes, CI IRE rules, and MID Server setup.
  
• Knowledge of network protocols: HTTP, TCP, SNMP, SOAP, REST.
  
• Good understanding of XML, JSON, scripting fundamentals.
  
• ServiceNow CSA or ITOM certifications preferred.
  

For Lead Developer (8–10 years):

• 8+ years of ServiceNow experience with

  minimum 4–5 years in Discovery development

  .
• Proven experience leading Discovery/ITOM implementations across large enterprises.
  
• Ability to mentor team members and lead technical discussions.
