Diagnosing and troubleshooting: Identifying the cause of vehicle problems using diagnostic tools and equipment. Performing repairs: Replacing or repairing damaged parts, such as brakes, engines, or electrical components. Conducting routine maintenance: Performing tasks like oil changes, fluid checks, and tire rotations. Advising customers: Explaining repairs and maintenance needs to customers, and potentially recommending future maintenance. Keeping accurate records: Documenting services performed and parts used. Utilizing specialized tools and equipment: Operating diagnostic tools, welders, compressors, and other workshop equipment. Staying up-to-date: Continuing to learn about new automotive technologies and techniques. Working with customers: Communicating effectively with customers about their vehicle's issues and potential repairs. Maintaining the workplace: Keeping the garage or workshop area clean and organized.
