Overview A strong SRE with expertise in Kubernetes and cloud environments (GCP, Azure)is essential for organizations that rely heavily on cloud-native applications and seek to maintain high levels of service reliability and performance. Responsibilities System Design and Architecture : Design and implement scalable, reliable, and efficient cloud infrastructure. Collaborate with development teams to integrate Kubernetes and cloud solutions into application architectures. Deployment and Management : Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters, ensuring they are secure, robust, and optimized for performance. Automate deployment processes using tools like Helm, Terraform, or Ansible. Monitoring and Logging : Implement monitoring (eg: Datadog, Opsramp) and logging solutions (Eg: Native cloud logging solution, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack ) to ensure visibility into system health and performance. Monitor alerts and dashboards to proactively identify and resolve issues. Performance Optimization : Analyze system performance and conduct tuning exercises to improve efficiency. Work on resource optimization within Kubernetes to ensure cost-effective use of cloud resources. Incident Management and Troubleshooting : Lead incident response efforts to quickly resolve outages and service interruptions. Conduct root cause analysis and implement solutions to prevent recurrence. Security and Compliance : Implement security best practices in Kubernetes and cloud environments, including secrets management and network policies. Ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies. Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) : Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code scripts to automate infrastructure provisioning and management. Implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline application delivery and updates. Continuous Improvement : Stay updated with the latest developments in Kubernetes and cloud technologies. Continuously evaluate and improve processes, tools, and systems to enhance reliability and efficiency. Documentation : Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures. Ensure that runbooks and operational guides are up-to-date for use by the team. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent experience. Advanced Degree preferred. 5-8 years of experience Excellent communication skills Experience with end user issues Demonstrated technical experience Demonstrated experience working independently and collaboratively on projects Demonstrated experience trouble shooting Broad knowledge of applicable IT systems/applications Experience developing new systems and tools Experience in documenting and maintaining up to date systems procedures Advanced analytical skills Demonstrated Project Management skills Proven ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high growth, rapidly changing environment Experience identifying and implement process improvements
