Role & responsibilities Oversee forging processes, including die design, material selection, and production planning. Ensure proper setup and operation of forging presses, hammers, and induction heating systems. Optimize forging parameters to achieve the desired mechanical properties and minimize defects. Develop and manage heat treatment processes, including annealing, quenching, tempering, and stress relieving. Monitor furnace operations, temperature profiles, and cooling rates to ensure product quality. Collaborate with metallurgists to refine heat treatment cycles for enhanced strength and durability. Quality Control & Process Optimization: Conduct metallurgical inspections, hardness testing, and microstructure analysis to ensure compliance with industry standards. Identify defects such as cracks, decarburization, and grain structure issues, and implement corrective actions. Work closely with the tool room for die manufacturing, reconditioning, and maintenance. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for forging and heat treatment equipment. Preferred candidate profile Education: Diploma ,B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Production Engineering. Experience: 4-6 years of experience in forging and heat treatment processes, preferably in the automotive industry. Expertise in heat treatment processes and metallurgical testing methods.
