Senior Town Planner

As a Senior Town Planner part of the Infrastructure Planning team in India (Bengaluru/Noida) at WSP, you will have the opportunity to assist the UK based Infrastructure Planning and Engagement (IP&E) team. Your role will involve working on a wide variety of high-profile projects across the UK and be mentored by Planners from both India and the UK. You will collaborate closely with various teams in the UK to grow the Town Planning capability in the India offices and support the UK Infrastructure Planning discipline. Your key responsibilities will include: - Supporting WSP UK offices in the development and preparation of planning applications under the Town and Country Planning Acts - Conducting planning policy and history searches - Assisting in the preparation of planning constraint and strategy notes - Researching and reviewing planning policies - Writing segments of planning application documents - Organizing and managing work in a professional manner - Collaborating across multi-disciplinary planning, land, and environmental teams - Communicating effectively with colleagues in India and the UK - Attending and contributing to team and project meetings - Estimating time and budget requirements within project constraints - Taking ownership of tasks and researching solutions when required - Supporting the management of projects and development/training of staff - Maintaining healthy contact with different UK offices - Contributing to knowledge sharing in internal and external forums - Supporting business development activities You should possess the following qualifications and mandatory skills: Qualifications: - Degree level qualification in Town Planning or relevant field - Post Graduate qualification in Urban Planning/relevant subject with more than 7 years of experience, preferably in the UK/Australia/similar region Mandatory Skills: - UK/relevant international experience - Understanding of town planning practices and legislation in the UK - Membership of professional institutions in the UK - Experience in delivering planning consents for infrastructure projects - In-depth knowledge of Town Planning policies, practices, and legislation - Experience in project management and business development activities - Ability to produce reports, presentations, and technical notes - Good understanding of MS Office applications - Excellent communication skills in English In addition to the above, you are encouraged to demonstrate the following desirable skills: - Proficiency in ArcGIS, QGIS, and AutoCAD - Experience in presenting/publishing papers in recognized journals/conferences About WSP: WSP is a leading professional services consulting firm dedicated to providing lasting solutions in various sectors.
