Senior Technical Projects Lead

As a Senior Technical Projects Lead at Varahas, you will play a crucial role in owning and driving the preparation of client-ready technical documents, due-diligence responses, and funding proposals. Your responsibility will be to ensure that Varahas" technical expertise is effectively communicated to stakeholders such as investors, auditors, standard bodies, and grant-makers. **Roles and Responsibilities:** - Receive and classify client questionnaires and proposal requests, identifying immediate answers, expert input requirements, and new documentation needs. - Draft precise technical responses with clear sources, assumptions, and limitations. - Create missing appendices, standard operating procedures, diagrams, and data summaries. - Coordinate inputs across teams, set timelines, and drive review and approval processes. - Maintain a structured answer library and a repository of client-ready documents, ensuring consistency in language and facts. - Lead or support grant applications, aligning writing with reviewer criteria and commercial goals. - Guide the commercial team on accurately presenting technical content. **Qualifications:** - Based in Europe or India, willing to travel to India and project sites when necessary. - 5 to 10 years of experience in smallholder regenerative agriculture and/or agroforestry in Africa or Asia. - Proven track record in technical writing for due-diligence processes, project design documents, monitoring reports, or proposal responses with provided writing samples. - Successful experience in grant writing or proposal leadership with measurable funding results. - Strong understanding of nature-based carbon projects, including baselines, additionality, permanence, leakage, and risk buffers. - Working knowledge of soil carbon and biomass measurement, monitoring, reporting, verification, and sampling design. - Ability to interpret agronomy data and remote-sensing outputs into concise, defensible claims. - Sound business judgment, presenting benefits, costs, and risks accurately. - Reliable process habits with structured intake, targeted requests to experts, careful citation, and disciplined document management. - Excellent written English skills. **Preferred:** - Experience with Verra, Gold Standard, or Plan Vivo, including auditor interactions. - Experience in writing standard operating procedures for field protocols, quality assurance, and quality control. - Familiarity with working in India.
